in my opinion ,the spring festival as the most influential traditional festival have important meaning for us .several days before the new year， people begin to prepare. farmers kill pigs，sheep，cocks and hens. city dwellers buy meat fish and vegetables. houses are cleaned; coupletsare (春联)posted on the doors. colorful lanterns are hung at the gate.all family members will get together on new year eve to have a big meal . during which people do not work except for the workers on duty. students do not go to school,and shops are closed. at the same time ,everyone celebrates to each other . when people meet on the way， they say to each other happy new year..at about 12 oclock，some parents and children light crackers.the whole sky is lighted brightly. we may watch the fireworks excitedly. how busy it is! on the first earlymorning of one year，friends and relatives pay new year calls and gives presents to each other. at that time，children are the happiest because they can get many red packets form their parents，grandparents,uncles,aunts and so on.
the classmates:
the train time has brought us to a new station - 20 * * years to be over. then, we will be on new year's train set out on time, to our future together!
in the new time, the memories of the past year, our emotion surging. during the year, we happy together, look forward to, also tried together. we don't have this years of wasted time for yourself and pleasure, for us in the year to grow up healthily and happy. there may be some regret, but we will put these valuable experience for our life and wealth, because we believe that we will do better!

the topic for my speech today is “festival.” i would like to talk about my favorite festival, the mid-autumn festival.
in china we have several important festivals, such as the spring festival, the lantern festival, the dragon-boat festival and the mid-autumn festival. among them, i like mid-autumn festival best, especially because i live in xiamen.
in xiamen, when we celebrate the mid-autumn festival, we do not only follow the common practices such as having a big dinner party with our family, eating mooncakes, and appreciating the full moon at night, we also have one unique custom which is only practiced in xiamen, that is “bo bing”.
“bo bing” is a very interesting game that almost all xiamen people play during this festival. usually family members or close friends get together around a table with a big round bowl in the middle and six dices in the bowl. we take turns to throw the dices into the bowl. we will get different prizes accroding to the different ways the dices show their upper sides. everyone is likely to become the champion or “zhuangyuan” for the year. there is an element of luck and equal opportunity in this game. so people usually get excited while playing. also, the game gives very pleasant sounds. the tinkling made by the dices falling into the bowl is pleasant, peoplesquo;s laughing, cheering and applauding for the big prizes theysquo;ve won is pleasant. all this adds greatly to the joyful atmosphere of this festival. as a kid, of course i also like the material prizes i get from the game, such as a candy or a cake.
a new year ，a new start，when i stand on the edge of a new year，i can't help thinking about my plan of next year.
just as the old saying：“well began is the half of the success.”so i decide that i should be at work while the others are still relaxing ，and then ，at the beginning ，i'm quicker than the others and of course i will get better result than the others.
but ，what i really decide to do is that i must make good of anytime i can spare though it seems impossible. while，i will do my best to live up with what i have planned，and the result will prove it.
